Cornelius

A devout man who feared God with all his house

Acts 10:2

Cornelius was a Roman army officer, a Gentile, living in Caesarea. He prayed, gave to the poor, and feared God. Yet he still needed to hear about Jesus. The angel told him to send for Peter, "Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved" (Acts 11:14). Being good and religious is not the same as being saved.

A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.
