The daughters of Zelophehad

Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah and Tirzah were five sisters from the tribe of Manasseh. Their father had died in the wilderness with no sons, so under the usual way his family would lose its share of the promised land. They believed God's promise and came respectfully to ask for their inheritance, and God said they were right.

The daughters of Zelophehad speak right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them.
