Deborah was a prophetess who judged Israel while Jabin, king of Canaan, was crushing them with nine hundred chariots of iron. She sat under a palm tree, and the people came to her for judgment. When God gave a command for battle, she called Barak and reminded him what the LORD had said.
And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
