John
The disciple whom Jesus loved
John 19:26
John was the brother of James and one of the three closest to Jesus, with Peter and James. He saw Jairus' daughter raised from the dead. The Gospel of John was written by "the disciple whom Jesus loved" (John 21:20), and that disciple is John. He wrote so "that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God" (John 20:31).
And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.
