John the Baptist

John was the son of Zacharias and Elisabeth, grown up now and preaching in the wilderness. He called people to repent and baptized those who confessed their sins in the river Jordan. He never pointed to himself. When he saw Jesus coming, he told everyone to look at Him.

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
