Jonathan
Loved David as his own soul
1 Samuel 18:1
Jonathan was King Saul's son, the prince who might have been king next. Instead of being jealous of David, he loved him, protected him from Saul, and was glad that God had chosen David. When David was hunted and afraid, Jonathan "went to David into the wood, and strengthened his hand in God" (1 Samuel 23:16).
And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.
