Lois and Eunice

Lois was Timothy's grandmother, and Eunice was his mother. Eunice was a Jewess who believed, and Timothy's father was a Greek. These two women had a real, sincere faith, and they taught Timothy the holy scriptures from the time he was a child. That faithful teaching at home shaped one of Paul's most trusted helpers.

When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.
