Lydia
A seller of purple whose heart the Lord opened
Acts 16:14
Lydia was a businesswoman from the city of Thyatira, living in Philippi. She already worshipped God and met with other women by a river to pray. When Paul spoke about Jesus, the Lord opened her heart and she believed. She was baptized and opened her home to the missionaries. Her house became a meeting place for the church at Philippi.
And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
