Mordecai
Brought up Esther, his uncle's daughter
Esther 2:7
Mordecai was a Jew of the tribe of Benjamin whose family had been carried away from Jerusalem. When Esther's parents died, he raised her as his own daughter. He sat at the king's gate, served the king faithfully, and would bow to no man but feared God.
And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle's daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter.
