Samuel

Samuel grew up serving the LORD in the house of God at Shiloh, beside the old priest Eli. One night God called him by name, and Samuel learned to listen. He became a prophet, judged Israel all his life, and anointed Israel's first two kings. "And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him" (1 Samuel 3:19).

And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.
