Solomon
Asked God for an understanding heart
1 Kings 3:9
Solomon was the son of David and Bathsheba, born after David repented, and "the LORD loved him" (2 Samuel 12:24). He became king after David, and "Solomon loved the LORD" (1 Kings 3:3). When God offered him anything, he asked for wisdom to lead God's people well.
Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?
