Zacharias

Zacharias was a priest who served God in the temple at Jerusalem. He and his wife had prayed for a child for years, and now they were old. One day, while he burned incense, the angel Gabriel stood by the altar with an answer. God had not forgotten their prayer.

But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
